Some important shipping questions answered

Previously we discussed receiving
your first order
and how to
prepare for it, today we will discus how and what carrier will be used and what
can you expect at the time of delivery. Based on your orders size and type the shipment
is sent by one of four methods FedEx Freight, SEFL, FedEx ground or UPS so how
is this determined?

FedEx or SEFL
Freight Service – lots exceeding 10 boxes, 150 pounds or 1 pallet are typically
shipped using FedEx freight service. Average
time until delivery 5 to 10 business
days from payment date. Pay special attention to business days
and payment date. These are not calendar days and an order is not processed
until payment is received in full.

What to expect with a freight delivery?

For
residential deliveries, FedEx will normally contact you 24 hours in advance of
the delivery to schedule a delivery appointment which is typically a 4-hour
window.

For commercial deliveries, FedEx will deliver during standard
business hours of 9AM to 5PM. No
appointment will be scheduled by FedEx. If you require an appointment for commercial delivery, please call your
local FedEx terminal in advance with your tracking/pro-number ready. If your commercial property does not contain a
loading dock, please order commercial delivery with lift gate. Please note,
commercial address means that shipping address is zoned commercial. This
does not apply to home businesses. Home businesses that are run out of your
house or apartment are considered residential. Orders shipped to residential address can have lift gate
service added, this is a cargo elevator used to lower a pallet to the ground level.
Lift gate is highly encouraged for all residential deliveries.

What can you expect
from your delivery person and what are their responsibilities?

The driver’s main responsibility is to safely deliver the
shipment. If you request a lift gate
service, drive will lower the pallet to the ground level and if possible, use a
pallet jack to wheel pallet into your commercial door or garage.

Note, if driver is required to go beyond the front door or
loading dock to deliver your shipment, the inside delivery charge will be assessed. Such examples include driver moving a pallet
inside a mall to your store.

FedEx Ground-
Lots consisting of less than 10 boxes and weighing less than 150 pounds.
Average time until delivery 5 to 10 business days from payment.

What to expect with a FedEx ground
delivery?

FedEx will
not contact you to schedule the delivery for a ground shipment, however because
of the high dollar value of many of our lots our shipments are sent with
signature confirmation. Which means that an adult must be present to sign for the
shipment. Please keep an eye on the
tracking info and make sure someone is available to sign for the shipment.

UPS Ground

exclusively for our zero defect small wholesale lots, these
are typically less than 100 lbs and generally fewer than 5 boxes. Zero defect
small lots are generally shipped next business day.

What to expect with a
UPS ground delivery?

One of the benefits to our small wholesale lots is the quick
turnaround time, these lots ship next business day of receipt of payment.
Similar to FedEx ground service a signature will be required for the delivery
so make sure someone is available to receive the order.
